Verdict is a sport horse marketplace operated by Vlada Lvova, based in Georgia, United States.

The short version
You can browse Verdict without an account. If you want to save horses or get alerts, we ask for your email address. We do not sell your personal information. We use Google and Meta advertising tools, and when you request a sign-in link your email address is hashed and sent to Google so it can measure which ads worked. You can opt out of that and ask us to delete your account information at any time.
What we collect
If you never sign in. Your browser stores a record of horses you have viewed, on your own device. That list is not uploaded to us, but our server does record that a view happened, and our advertising tools record it too. We also record your IP address to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse, and record page and event counts so we know which parts of the site are used.
If you give us your email address. We ask for your email when you join the waitlist, sign in, save a horse, or set up alerts. We use sign-in links rather than passwords, so we store your email address, a short-lived sign-in token, and a session identifier, along with when and how often you sign in. Depending on what you use, your account can also hold saved horses, saved searches, alert preferences, information you enter in My Horse such as a horse's name, sire, breeder, veterinary status and photo, and records of reports or analyses you generated.
Your comparison list is not saved. It lives in your browser for the length of your visit.
If you claim a listing. The claim form asks for your name, email address, and relationship to the horse, and works whether or not you are signed in. We keep what you submit and email it to ourselves so we can follow up.
If you contact a seller or send a listing to your trainer. We pass your message and your email address to the recipient so they can reply to you directly. For many listings we cannot relay a message, so we prepare one for you to send yourself, and in that case the content never reaches us. Where we do relay, we keep only short-lived counters used for rate limiting.
If you upload a photo to scan a listing. The image is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to read the listing details out of it. Verdict itself stores nothing from this: the image is not saved, not written to a database, and not logged. It exists only for the length of the request. What Anthropic does with it is governed by their terms, so do not upload an image containing information you would not want a third party to process.
If you list a horse for sale. We collect the listing details, photos, and contact information you provide. Photos you upload are stored publicly so they can be displayed on the site.
If you report a sale. We collect the details shown on the form, which can include a breeder name, a sire name, a link to the listing, and any free text you add.
How we use it
To run the service, to improve the product, to measure our advertising, and to email you about Verdict.
When you sign in for the first time, your email address is added to our mailing list. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and unsubscribing is honored. We mention this because signing in is not the same as opting in.
We do not sell your personal information.

Some content on listing pages loads directly from the site the listing came from, or from video services such as Cloudflare Stream and YouTube. Your browser connects to those services directly and they can see your IP address and browser details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of users or of Verdict.
Advertising, and what Google receives
Verdict advertises on Google and uses the Meta pixel to measure advertising. These tools set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser, and third-party vendors including Google and Meta use them to show Verdict ads based on your previous visits to this and other sites.
One point beyond ordinary cookies. Verdict uses a Google feature called enhanced conversions. When you request a sign-in link, your email address is converted into an irreversible hashed form in your browser and that hash is sent to Google, so Google can match the sign-in to an advertisement you may have clicked. This happens every time you request a sign-in link, including as a returning user. We share this with Google to perform advertising measurement services on our behalf.
The Meta pixel does not receive your email address. It records page views and events only.

You can also block cookies in your browser, or write to hello@getverdictapp.com and ask us to exclude you from advertising measurement.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing browsing activity and hashed identifiers with advertising vendors to show and measure ads is treated as "sharing" under some state privacy laws, and the opt-outs above are how you stop it. Verdict does not currently detect the Global Privacy Control browser signal.
Cookies and storage on your device
A sign-in cookie is set after you sign in and keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is marked HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, is not readable by scripts, and is set for getverdictapp.com and its subdomains.
Verdict also stores items in your browser's own storage, on your device rather than on our servers: horses you recently viewed, information you enter in My Horse, a local history of listings and analyses you have looked at, sale reports you have drafted, feature preferences, and the email address you last typed. We stop displaying recently viewed entries after 30 days, but they remain in your browser until it is cleared. You can remove all of this by clearing site data.
Google and Meta set their own advertising cookies, described above.
How long we keep it
Some records expire automatically: sign-in tokens last minutes, rate limit counters about a day, and several others up to a year. Your account, saved horses, My Horse entries, and listing claims are kept until you ask us to remove them. We do not operate a single automatic deletion schedule across everything, and we would rather say so than publish one we do not enforce.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account information. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in it, opt out of advertising cookies at the links above, and clear everything stored in your browser by clearing site data.

Listings collected from other websites
Most listings on Verdict were published publicly by sellers on other marketplaces. We collect the listing text, details, and photographs as they were published, and we keep a record of pricing and listing history over time, including after a horse is sold. That record is what makes market analysis possible and it is central to what Verdict does.
Because we keep the seller's own advertisement text as it was written, that text can contain a phone number, an email address, a location, or a person's or farm's name, because the seller put it there. We remove structured contact fields where we can, but we do not rewrite the seller's own words.
If you are a seller and you would prefer your listing not appear on Verdict, write to hello@getverdictapp.com with a link to it and we will look at it individually.
Security
Verdict uses encrypted connections, sign-in links rather than passwords, rate limits, and access controls on administrative functions. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@getverdictapp.com rather than disclosing it publicly.
Children
Verdict is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us.
If you are outside the United States
Verdict is operated from the United States and your information is stored and processed there. If you are elsewhere, you can make the requests described above by writing to hello@getverdictapp.com. We are a small operation and do not maintain a European representative or a data protection officer.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will say so on the site.
